“The clouds aren’t printed on the blinds!” – solving heat and glare issues with Conservatory’s
Our client has a lovely rear conservatory extension to the kitchen and living area. In the peak of the summer the direct radiant heat though the glass ceiling was just too much, heating surfaces and creating heat energy from including the kitchen bench, flooring and furniture. Losing the view through to the sky was not an option.
Our solution was the installation of Verosol pleated motorised blinds and fixed framed blinds for the corners, powder coated white frames to suit the wall colour.
We recommended Versol’s transparent 812 Originals with metalised backing. This is a specialist range of window furnishings designed with heat and solar reflectance properties specifically to reflect radiant heat.
812 Originals allows the view to be maintained while assisting significantly with heat reflection.
Performance characteristics of Verosol’s 812 Originals include:
- Solar transmittance 9%
- Solar reflectance outside 62%
- Solar absorbance 29%
- UV transmittance 7%
- Openess of fabric 5%
